The “Memory Code” clothing collection exhibition will be on display at the Bārbele Community Centre

On May 21, 2026, World Vyshyvanka Day, which honours the traditional Ukrainian embroidered garment as a symbol of culture, freedom, and national identity, the Society “Park of Intellect” presented its exhibition of the “Memory Code” clothing collection at the Bārbele Community Centre.

The garments created by Ukrainian artist Olena Riumina combine traditional motifs with a contemporary artistic language, transforming clothing into an emotional and visual statement. Each piece reveals a personal sentiment while also reflecting a shared cultural experience.

The exhibition invites visitors not only to observe but also to feel how personal and collective stories unfold through fabric, colour, and form – stories that connect people across borders and generations.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to “Vietvalži”, a branch of the Babīte Cultural Education Centre in Sala Parish, Mārupe Municipality, for their warm welcome and for providing the opportunity for the “Memory Code” clothing collection to become a part of the local cultural life.

The exhibition of the “Memory Code” clothing collection will be on view at the Bārbele Community Center (2 Bauskas Street, Bārbele, Bārbele Parish, Bauska Municipality) from May 21 to June 30, 2026.

The exhibition was created within the framework of the “Park of Intellect” Society’s projects “STRONG TOGETHER-3” and “STRONG TOGETHER-4”, implemented under the programme “Cultural Orientation Courses and Integration Activities for Ukrainian Civilians”, funded by the Latvian state budget through the Society Integration Foundation.
