Attention all those interested in creative writing!
We invite you to register for classes and masterclasses offered by “Text Laboratory” (TekstLAB) during the 2025 season.
Classes will take place once or twice a month on Thursday or Friday evenings at 6:00 p.m.
The first class will take place on 31 January 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
6:00 p.m. – Opening of “Text Laboratory”, led by Maija Burima, Head of the “Text Laboratory” programme and Professor at Daugavpils University.
6:15 p.m. – Creative writing class “‘I Have Been Telling You for One Hundred and Five Days Already—’ (I. Ziedonis): Hyperbole as a Figurative Device in Literature”, led by Rudīte Rinkeviča, Associate Professor at Daugavpils University and literary scholar.

TekstLAB classes take place online via the Zoom videoconferencing platform. The access link will be sent to all registered participants.
“Text Laboratory” is an online writing studies platform that provides knowledge, inspiration, and support for the creation of new texts in a variety of genres. At “Text Laboratory”, experience meets creativity.
TekstLAB classes are led by Latvian and international writers, literary scholars, and other experts in the field. Participants are also offered an opportunity to receive feedback on their texts from a literary consultant and to have their work published.
The “Text Laboratory” programme is implemented by the Daugavpils University Lifelong Learning, Culture, and Science Communication Society “Park of Intellect”, with financial support from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia and in cooperation with the Latvian Writers’ Union, under Participation Agreement No. 2025/1.17-LA-SAD-1, “On the Performance of Specific Public Administration Tasks to Ensure and Develop the Acquisition of Latvia’s Professional Literary Writing Tradition in the Latgale Region”.
