“Thank you. This morning I was feeling quite unwell. I do not know how the listeners felt, but this meeting made me feel well again,” Jānis Streičs wrote at the beginning of a letter addressed to the association “Intelekta parks” following one of its Conversational Language Club sessions.
Jānis Streičs – a man who may himself be described as an era – encouraged and inspired the participants at every meeting. The association expresses its sincere gratitude for his presence at these events, which inspired people to reflect, take initiative and act towards building a stronger and more cohesive society.
During the unforgettable meetings with Jānis Streičs, the participants experienced his personal charisma, strength of spirit and wisdom, all of which left a lasting impression on everyone present.
The era of Jānis Streičs does not fade away – it continues to live on in people and in their experiences.
From 2023 to 2024, Jānis Streičs participated as a guest in the online sessions of the Conversational Language Club “I Want to Talk to You”, organised within the association “Intelekta parks” project “My Latvian Language Portfolio”, No. PMIF/13.2./2023/1/10.
These sessions will remain in the memories of the participants of “Intelekta parks” as events of historical significance, enriched in a unique way by Jānis Streičs’s charisma, wisdom and life experience. At the same time, his presence inspired third-country nationals to express themselves with greater confidence and to further develop their Latvian conversational skills.
