Activities implemented within the project “My Latvian Language Portfolio” in the first quarter of 2026

The Daugavpils University Society for Lifelong Learning, Culture, and Science Communication “Park of Intellect” continues to implement the project “My Latvian Language Portfolio”, No. PMIF/13.2./2023/1/10, within Activity 13.2 “Inclusion of Third-Country Nationals in Local Society by Promoting Opportunities for the Use and Acquisition of the Latvian Language” of the 2021-2027 planning period of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.

In 2026, participants from six Latvian language course groups completed their studies – 74 third-country nationals from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan. We are happy for all participants who successfully passed the state language proficiency examination and are grateful to those who agreed to be photographed with their positive VIAA decisions.

At the same time, in the new study period, five additional groups have started their courses, with 73 third-country nationals from Albania, the United Kingdom, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, India, Iran, Russia, Sri Lanka, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan beginning their studies. In addition to Latvian language courses, activities of the conversation club “I Want to Talk to You” are also being implemented in 2026 – three new groups have commenced their work, each involving 15 participants (45 persons in total).

The courses and conversation club sessions are organised both in person and online, ensuring accessibility for residents from different regions of Latvia. Within the framework of the programme, participants not only learn the language but also expand their knowledge of Latvian culture, traditions, and societal values, thereby promoting successful integration into local society.

The courses are organised within the framework of the project “My Latvian Language Portfolio”, No. PMIF/13.2./2023/1/10, under Activity 13.2 “Inclusion of Third-Country Nationals in Local Society by Promoting Opportunities for the Use and Acquisition of the Latvian Language” of the 2021–2027 planning period of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.
