From 7 April 2025 to 14 November 2025, the Society “Park of Intellect” provided Latvian language training for Ukrainian civilians in 37 Latvian language groups. A total of 440 Ukrainian civilians participated in the training, and 400 course participants successfully completed the programme. Latvian language studies for Ukrainian civilians were offered to 134 participants in eleven A1-level groups, 113 participants in ten A2-level groups, 59 participants in six B1-level groups, 60 participants in six B2-level groups, 16 participants in two C1-level groups, and 18 participants in two C2-level groups.
After the completion of the courses, a participant survey was conducted to evaluate satisfaction with the Latvian language training courses. Participation in the survey was voluntary and anonymous.
A total of 340 Latvian language course participants took part in the survey, respectively 85% of the total number of course participants.
The survey results indicate that the Latvian language courses were evaluated positively. The majority of respondents gave favourable assessments of the quality and competence of the teaching staff, the teaching methods and learning materials used, and the organisation of the courses. Overall satisfaction was rated as high.
The aim of the survey was to assess participants’ satisfaction with the learning process, course content, and organisational aspects of the Latvian language courses, as well as to identify strengths and areas for improvement for further course development.
At the same time, the survey provided valuable information on areas requiring improvement. The data obtained will be used to plan further improvement measures and to enhance the quality management system.
At the end of the survey, respondents were asked an open-ended question to provide feedback after the completion of the courses. Below are some selected comments:
“I highly value the teacher’s competence, tolerance, and friendly attitude. I always had the opportunity to ask questions freely, regardless of their level of difficulty. There was room to make mistakes without feeling ashamed, and instead receive support. The teacher patiently repeats all the learning material.”
“The teacher explains the material in a positive and very clear way. The attitude is mutually respectful, and there is also a bit of humour, which is especially needed at this time to help reduce tension.”
“I am very grateful to the course organisers for the opportunity to study. The course is accessible even for complete beginners. Everything is clear, useful, and practically applicable.”
“There is a friendly atmosphere in the classes. Support and professionalism are felt at every stage of the course. The teacher has successfully organised lessons for a group with participants of different ages and varying levels of knowledge, ensuring that everyone works freely, confidently, and actively throughout the entire course.”
“I liked the course; the teacher explains the material well and provides a lot of information.”
“The training courses were very useful. Each lesson provided new knowledge. After completing the course, I am able to understand and speak Latvian. It was very convenient that a presentation was shown in each lesson and that the teacher sent it by email after the class. Thank you for your work – what your team does is very valuable!”
“A very content-rich course with a highly qualified instructor. I really liked it and will continue my studies with you in the future.”
“This training course was educational, and I was able to deepen and strengthen my vocabulary. I liked that all students had a good level of Latvian and attended classes regularly. For this, I am grateful to the wonderful teacher. She managed to bring us together, created a friendly atmosphere, prepared interesting topics for discussion, provided us with rich vocabulary, and helped us overcome the barrier to communicate freely in Latvian. Thank you for such an excellent course.”
“The Latvian language course left a very pleasant impression. The classes were conducted in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere, and the material was presented clearly and in a well-structured way. It was easy and enjoyable to study with this instructor, which significantly increased my motivation and helped me learn the language more effectively. I would like to continue my studies at the B1 level.”

The event is financially supported by the Society Integration Foundation using funds allocated from the Latvian state budget.
