Activities and results
The knowledge gained during the cultural orientation courses organized within the project will shape Ukrainian civilians’ understanding of Latvian statehood, society, and employment. It will provide incentives for transferring the acquired knowledge, thereby promoting the target group’s adaptation to Latvian society.
The discussion of the topic “Latvian History and Values of the Latvian Cultural Canon” within the cultural orientation courses will be provided by the project partner – the cultural institution Rainis House in Berķenele.
The cultural orientation courses will be conducted in in-person, remote, and hybrid formats.
The team-building event “STRONG TOGETHER” will shape Ukrainian civilians’ perception of the processes, values, and communication models of Latvian public life.
During hands-on workshops, the participants will create new frameworks and networks for cooperation, share successful small business experiences, identify the potential for entrepreneurial initiatives.
Participants of the entrepreneurship initiative hackathon “Promoting Leadership and Cooperation Between Ukrainian Civilians and Representatives of Latvian Society” will strengthen their leadership and collaboration skills, develop original business ideas, and assess opportunities for integration into Latvia’s entrepreneurial landscape. During the implementation of the activities “Poetry Days in Berķenele – 2025” and “Poetry Days at the Dubulti Writers’ House”, in cooperation with the project partners – two cultural institutions: the Latvian Writers’ Union and the Rainis House in Berķenele – a closer connection will be fostered between Ukrainian civilians and the host community. This will enhance the target group’s understanding of Latvian cultural values, the literary canon, and the importance of texts in successful cultural communication, while also developing Ukrainian civilians’ communication and creative skills. During the interactive session “From Technology to Creativity – One Step”, the participants will explore the emotional expression and stylistic devices applied in poetic texts, become acquainted with the channels through which texts circulate in Latvia, and gain insight into the role of creative writing in trauma therapy. In collaboration with the Rainis House in Berķenele, the activity “Under the Same Sun” focused on exploring summer solstice traditions will promote the integration of Ukrainian civilians into Latvian society. It will enhance their understanding of the potential of the creative industries, national ethnography, folklore, mythology, and summer solstice traditions.
