On February 27, 2025, a meeting with representatives of the Society Integration Foundation (SIF) took place at the Society for Lifelong Learning, Culture, and Science Communication “Intellect Park” of Daugavpils University.
The society was visited by SIF Secretariat Director Inese Kalvāne, Head of the Social Cohesion Events Coordination Department Kristīne Kļukoviča, Public Relations Manager Iveta Kancēna, and Public Relations Specialist Patrīcija Kuzmina.
The purpose of the visit was to familiarize oneself with the activities carried out by “Intellect Park”, its implemented projects, and experience in the field of social integration, as well as to discuss opportunities for future cooperation and support mechanisms.
During the meeting, the Chair of the Board of the society “Intellect Park”, Professor Maija Burima, provided a comprehensive overview of the organization’s activities, emphasizing its contributions to organizing a variety of educational, cultural, and integration events for third-country nationals.
Professor Burima shared the society’s past experiences, highlighting successfully implemented projects aimed at fostering social cohesion among different community groups, promoting the learning of the Latvian language, strengthening cultural diversity, and supporting active civic participation.
Constructive discussions were held with SIF representatives regarding the challenges in implementing Latvian language learning, cultural orientation, and social cohesion activities. The discussions focused on the needs of the target audience and solutions for a more effective approach to engaging various societal groups.
The society “Intellect Park” expresses its gratitude to the SIF representatives for the productive exchange of views and support, which serves as motivation to continue implementing innovative, high-quality projects tailored to the needs of the target audience, fostering social cohesion and integration.
