In June 2024, Daugavpils University Association for Lifelong Learning, Culture, and Science Communication “Intellect Park” started the implementation of cultural orientation courses within the framework of the project “STRONG TOGETHER – 3. СИЛЬНІ РАЗОМ – 3”, ID No. 2024.LV/UKR_KO/003/L2, funded by the Latvian state budget programme “Cultural Orientation Courses and Integration Activities for Ukrainian Civilians”.
The cultural orientation courses are conducted remotely via the ZOOM e-conference platform. The knowledge gained will enhance Ukrainian civilians’ awareness of Latvian statehood, society, and values, and provide suggestions for applying this knowledge, thereby promoting adaptation within Latvian society. During the classes, guided by experienced educators project participants will receive both theoretical and practical knowledge on topics relevant to daily life.
The courses are organized in a volume of 32 academic hours and cover the following topics: “History of Latvia” (Mg. hist., Mg. paed. Andris Kupšāns); “Values of the Latvian Cultural Canon” (Dr. philol. Žans Badins); “Public Administration, Rule of Law, and Participation in Local Community Activities” (Dr. iur. Igors Trofimovs); “Society and Everyday Life” (Dr. philol. Ingrīda Kupšāne); “Education” (Dr. paed. Sandra Zariņa); “Latvian Language at Work and in Everyday Life” (Dr. paed. Sandra Zariņa); “Social and Health Care Services” (Mg. paed. Jānis Pitrāns); “Entrepreneurship Opportunities” (Mg. oec. Tatjana Daudiša).
Upon completion of the courses, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion.
