On February 6 -7 and March 26 – 28, 2025, the Society “Intellect Park” organized training sessions within the framework of the project “Opportunity Community. Intercultural Communication Training for Professionals from Various Fields to Strengthen the Integration Framework for Third-Country Nationals”, project No. PMIF/13.4./2024/1/01.
The training focused on social diversity and intercultural communication. Participants included professionals from the medical sector, such as employees of the Emergency Medical Service, the Daugavgrīva Prison of the Prison Administration, and the Physiotherapy Clinic “VALE”.
From March 7 to March 13, 2025, training sessions on social diversity and intercultural communication were organized at Ita Kozakeviča Riga Polish Secondary School. Sixteen education professionals participated, including teachers from Riga Secondary School No. 15, Riga Secondary School No. 80, and the Riga Nordic Gymnasium.
During the training course, under the guidance of professional experts and through various interactive methods, participants explored the following relevant topics: “Hate Speech and Hate Crimes”, “Cultural Competence and Understanding of Cultural Norms”, “International Law and Professional Ethics”, “The Main Grounds of Discrimination and Principles for Its Prevention”, “Intercultural Communication – Forms, Styles, and Differences in Communication and Perception Across Cultures” and “Stereotypes and Prejudices”. Third-country guest lecturers and guest participants were participating in the training sessions.
According to the participant satisfaction survey, the sessions were considered highly valuable and relevant. They lecturers provided a broad perspective on the issues, offered an in-depth analysis of current and related theories, included practical examples, and applied various interactive methods.
